Windows 11 Scam: Microsoft has unveiled its new Windows 11 OS. However, the stable update of Windows is not yet available for everyone to download. Microsoft will release Windows 11 later this year. 


The tech company has not yet disclosed the official date. While the official/stable build of Windows 11 is yet to be released, users are using different installers available on the Internet to experience the next generation of Windows.


Beware of Fake Windows 11 Installer:


Ahead of the official release, the preview version of Windows 11 is already available for download. Cybercriminals are using this opportunity to install malware on users' devices and PCs. 


There are many fake Windows 11 installers available on the internet which are duping the users. One of many such fake installers comes with an executable file name 86307_windows 11 builds 21996.1 x64 + activator.exe.

Kaspersky reports that this fake installer comes with a file size as large as 1.75GB. Installing an executable file looks similar to a normal Windows installation, so you won't notice much difference. 


The main purpose of such files is to download a second executable which is also an installer and even comes with a license agreement that states that it will install some sponsored software.


Follow these tips to keep your Laptop/PC Safe:


Tip 1: If you want to use Windows 11 then download only from the official source. Windows 11 is officially available only to those participating in the Windows Insider Program. To install the update, you'll need a device with Windows 10 pre-installed.


Tip 2: To upgrade a Windows 10 PC to Windows 11, go to Settings, click on Update & Security, then select the Windows Insider program and activate the Dev channel to receive updates.
