Today on 25 September 2021: 'World Pharmacist Day' is being celebrated across the world. This day is specially celebrated to give honor and respect to the pharmacist. The theme of World Pharmacist Day 2021 is "Pharmacy: Always Trusted for Your Health". 


World Pharmacist Day was started by the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). FIP was established on this day in 1912. FIP is a global association of national associations of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.


History of World Pharmacist Day


World Pharmacist Day was started in 2009 by the International Pharmaceutical Federation Council in Istanbul. This year is the 11th year of celebrating Annual Pharmacist Day across the world. 25 September was chosen as the date for World Pharmacists Day.

Because the International Pharmaceutical Federation was originally founded on this day in 1912, thus it was only natural that Turkish members of the Council suggested in 2009 that 25 September be celebrated as World Pharmacist Day.
