Mahavikas Aghadi has called for a Maharashtra Bandh to protest the Lakhimpur violence. Today, the Maharashtra Bandh on October 11 has been appealed by the Mahavikas Aghadi. 


The NCP, Shiv Sena and Congress in the Mahavikas Aghadi have also agreed. It has been decided to close on October 11 after discussions at a recent state cabinet meeting. 


Today, markets other than essential services like medical stores, milk supply, hospitals, etc. will be closed.

Lakhimpur violence was discussed at the state cabinet meeting. Tributes were paid to those killed in the incident at a cabinet meeting. 


Minister Jayant Patil had informed after the cabinet meeting that all other services except essential services would be closed on the day. 


Jayant Patil had said that this is on behalf of the closed party and not on behalf of the government. Shiv Sena has always been behind the farmers, so we will participate in the bandh, Eknath Shinde had said. 


Balasaheb Thorat had said that BJP's mentality was seen in crushing the farmers' movement and BJP was seen in the role of General Dyer.

Farmers in Uttar Pradesh were crushed by a convoy of vehicles carrying the son of Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra Tenny as part of an all-India farmers' agitation on behalf of the Samyukta Kisan Morcha.
