Navi Mumbai Braces for 12-Hour Water Cut: Essential Maintenance to Disrupt Supply

Residents of Navi Mumbai are gearing up for a significant water supply disruption scheduled for March 27, 2024.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has announced a 12-hour water cut affecting several areas, including Kharghar and Kamothe, to carry out essential maintenance work1.

The shutdown, aimed at facilitating maintenance tasks along the pipeline from Bhokarpada Water Treatment Plant to Morbe Dam, will commence at 10 AM and continue until 8 PM2. This interruption is crucial for ensuring the long-term reliability and safety of the water supply system.

Areas to be affected by the water cut include Airoli, Belapur, Ghansoli, Kamote, Kharghar, Koperkhairane, Nerul, Turbhe, and Vashi. The NMMC has urged residents to conserve water and use it sparingly during this period, as the supply is expected to resume on March 28 with low pressure12.

This preemptive measure highlights the importance of regular maintenance in preventing larger-scale disruptions. As summer approaches, the NMMC’s proactive approach serves as a reminder of the critical need for water conservation in all communities.
